With a fuller sound than a solo acoustic singer/songwriter but cleaner and more subtly expressive than a full band, TWO is the essential distillation of what has become contemporary music's standard instrumentation, drums and guitar.
It works marvelously well largely because in the hands of strong rhythmic artists the interplay of beat and counter beat sustains a very strong emotional rhythm without the watering down by extraneous instruments. That which is emotional in the music has less to compete with.
TWO (Rick Sirota/Mark Davis) are two such musicians. Sirota's guitar and voice bring the melodic and harmonic drive while Davis' drums bring the tension and emotional punch that takes the music that one step farther. TWO is a must see!
Mark Davis is a soft-spoken man full of rhythm and good ideas. Born in D.C. and raised in New Jersey he is a gentle giant of a musician. Dir. of a human services agency, a sector he has worked in for many years doing, among other things music therapy for patients with mental health disorders and other disabilities.
