Home Concerts
Although it is a fairly new concept in this country, home concerts have been a staple of the European consciousness for many years.
Recently, certain Independent labels have taken to offering their artists for home performances in an effort to increase their appeal and recognition. While it may, to some, seem a last ditch effort to revitalize a failing performer there are, upon a closer examination, a number of very compelling arguments to the contrary.
Are you growing tired of the limited range of music available to the area in which you live? Do you hate having to brave the weather, the traffic and subsequent parking dilemmas? Tired of the cover charge and drink minimums for music you are really not that enamored of. Sick of the bar scene in general; the noise, the crowds, the charmless drunks and the endless litany of one-liners? Ever wonder where secure adults go and that other music can be found?
Depending upon where you live the options can run from modest to miserable. Home concerts offer an elegant alternative to the status-quo. The venue is always comfortable and secure because it is your home: living-room, den, finished basement, backyard or patio. The drunks are nowhere to be found because the "clientele" is whomever you invite. You won't have to fight the noise to hear the "band" and you will already know that you will like what they are going to play. Instead of an overcrowded free-for-all you can have a dignified private concert for yourself, your family, and your friends.
I am a veteran performer of 36 years in a number of area bands from rock to eclectic and all points in between and a singer/songwriter in an acoustic oriented folk, folk-rock vein with television and radio credits. I am a self contained act complete with sound re-enforcement (as much or as little as needed) and can offer a solo, duo, or; with some advanced preparation; a trio.
